KINDRED QUEENS

Kindred Queens is a book by artist Annie Broderick, a tangible extension of her 2022 exhibition Soulskins: Fit for Kindred Queens, created in collaboration with Girls Inc. DC. It brings together Annie’s sculptural garments, photographed on 12 women from her community, alongside personal reflections, process notes, and tributes to her artistic lineage.

Process:
Annie initially reached out about designing a book to complement her upcoming exhibition, but after we met, it became clear her vision was part of something larger: a new art initiative called Miss Lou. Before starting the book, I created the brand identity for Miss Lou and then designed the print collateral for the exhibit Soulskins: Fit for Kindred Queens.
